ROUND ONE: Bridging the Social Gap
Come on in, guys!
Today, you are playing an individual challenge. Two people will win, so each of you has more of a chance!
In this challenge, each of you has a crate which holds 17 planks and a bridge on which the planks are to be placed. Each of you has one plank for every other castaway except for yourself, and those planks are in each castaway's bin. Therefore, a contestant must run to each of everyone's crates, grab a plank, and put it on their mat before they begin constructing their bridge.
However, to make life easier for the people who have been more social, players are able to GIVE their planks to each other before starting the challenge. Create a list of who you want to give your planks to in your confessional at any time - once you post it, you MAY NOT edit or delete it. Do this in a SEPARATE topic from the one where you do the challenge (which will also be in your confessional).
For example, if I were playing, I would give my planks to my husband Bob Dawg (<3) and BFF Amanda. That way, when Amanda and Bob Dawg are competing, they don't need to stop by my create to grab a plank.
Let's say Bobby and I got in a fight (which would never happen) and BobDawg assumes I didn't give him one of her planks, but I did. If he stopped by my station, and grabbed a plank, he'd be assessed a 30 second penalty for having one too many planks from another castaway. Likewise, if the opposite occurred, and Bobby assumed I gave him a piece I didn't, he'd be assessed a 30 second penalty for not collecting all of the pieces.
Once a contestant thinks they have all of the necessary planks, they can begin constructing their bridge. That's in the form of a puzzle:
You may NOT post a puzzle screenshot immediately after completing your bridge. You MUST do the puzzle AFTER you post all the plank grabbing. If your post times are suspicious, then you will be assessed a twenty-seven minute penalty, pretty much screwing you out of any chance to win this.
When you post your puzzle screenshot, be sure that the time it took you and your AIM buddy list and clock are included, like Amanda has done here:
This is what you are to post, in order, substituting the [brackets] for names - it's recommended that you go to crates in alphabetical order:

You are to do this in ORDER - so you can't grab two planks and return to your mat. You may delete posts as you wish, but NO editing. There is no time limit between posts, EXCEPT during the puzzle. Once you post that you begin assembling the bridge, work on the puzzle, finish it, put up the screencap, post that you've finished it, cross the bridge, bam you're done. Any penalties will be added to your cumulative time.
The TWO people who complete this entire sequence the fastest will win the challenge. What will they win? Well I'm sure you're all wondering that, but we're not going to tell you just yet. Feel free to speculate!
To recap:
Socialize and try and convince people to give you their planks
Create a list of who you want to give planks to
Do the challenge in a separate topic, from start to finish
Do the puzzle DURING the challenge - because the timestamp matters a LOT
You get a 30 second penalty for each plank you don't have
You get a 30 second penalty if you have two planks from the same crate
You get a 30 second penalty if any of your posts jump out of order
You get a 30 second penalty if you modify a post
You get a 27-minute penalty if you cheat by doing the puzzle before the challenge
The two people who do it the fastest win
If you have questions, contact one of us - most likely me (DDanielleDDTF) - on AIM. Amanda should be on late tonight and sometime tomorrow. If you ask us what the prize is here, we'll just give you a one-minute penalty, so don't ask that
Note: I will not be on AIM right away, but feel free to PM me and I will respond as readily as possible.
Good luck everyone, and here's to an amazing season! Survivors ready? GO!
