Episode Five: Blaze of Intimacy
WARNING: THE FOLLOWING PROGRAM CONTAINS GRAPHIC SCENES. VIEWER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.
It was challenge day. Amanda was picking up the painted stones for team-picking from the drying rack and putting them into a bag. Andy came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her breasts. She laughed.
“I love you,” he whispered into her ear before kissing her cheek.
Amanda’s cheeks got red as she smiled broadly. “I love you too,” she replied. She dropped the bag of rocks on the floor and kissed Andy smack on the mouth, putting her back into it and all her heart.
Both of them immediately reminisced about two nights prior, the last time they had made out, in the same room, and put the same fire, the passion, the love, the everything!
This continued for the next two minutes, until Parvati strolled into the bedroom and started giggling, which immediately killed the mood.
“Sorry,” Parvati said the moment Amanda shot an angry leer in her direction. “Don’t laser me.” Parvati frantically put her hands up in defense. Amanda instead focused on Andy, who went right back to kissing her. Parv retreated, knowing full well that the lovers did not like frequent interruption.
The challenge came and went, and the jewel-stealing mess never got old. Especially since this one had been on a rainy afternoons.
“You really like the jewels, don’t you, honey?” Andy asked Amanda when they were alone together in their room.
“Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, duh,” Amanda shot back. She then started laughing, in which Andy joined.
“You know what my best friend is?” Andy began. “You.”
Amanda blushed, and, somewhat embarrassed, pulled her hat down slightly lower over her eyes.
“Or rather, you’re more than my best friend. Come here.”
The two kissed passionately, Andy’s head knocking Amanda’s hat back to where it had rested before.
“Shall we?” Amanda asked.
“Oh yes. You can leave your hat on,” Andy replied.
They stood up. A matching waterfall of two different materials cascaded to the floor, exposing polyester, leather, and lace; the fire burned softly, more intensely, as buttons split, and a quick sea of cotton flew around, barely keeping it capped. A blaze of intimacy engulfed the room as a second fiery snog united two hearts, a relentless passion burning, surrounding two souls with an invisible aura only known to those burning in unison. The quick, sharp snap of a hook sent lace skyward as a sea of polyester melted into the denim resting already on the wood floor. Nature crackled as lighting struck the lodge, snuffing the lights but not the passion. The burning intensity emblazed the silk as two figures descended upon it as one, smiling, burning, loving, embracing, calming, in destiny; an obliviousness to the raw power of nature bode well, crackling with its own spark as latex rose from the table, lighting up the darkness with a beaming face and bright, sparkling green eyes.
“Darling,” she whispered, “the power’s out. Would you like me to light that for you?”
Seeing the shining smile in the dark, she snatched the latex from his hand…
In the next room, DD and Bobby were fretting about the power being out. They heard the moaning and passion from the other side of the wall. DD nudged Bobby, interrupting his reading by flashlight.
“I told you that was no excuse,” DD stated sharply.
“What?” Bobby asked.
“Don’t. You can hear it.”
Bobby couldn’t disagree.
Morning broke. Amanda awoke to find Andy’s body holding her tightly in warm embrace, and that mixed with the fresh smell of morning dew invoked a memory of the thunderstorm they had created the prior night. She chose to stay in comfort, in his tight grip, as it relaxed her and made her forget that she had a date with seven other people who were at each other’s throats that night.
Andy began stirring a couple minutes after, loosening his grip, then releasing it. Amanda fretted, as she’d like that.
“Why’d you have to let me go?” Amanda asked, her eyes blinking flirtatiously.
“I’m never letting you go,” Andy replied. “But I do have a small surprise for you today.”
Amanda’s eyes opened wide. “What is it?”
“A surprise, duh,” Andy shot back.
Amanda laughed. She fished around in the bed for her hat, which had fallen off, and covered her head with it. Andy smiled, as he loved it when she wore her hat. The two’s eyes met in romantic intensity reminiscent of the prior night.
“Come on, let’s get dressed,” Andy stated.
“Do we have to?” Amanda replied. “I could stay like this all day.” She lay back onto her pillow, then grabbed the bill of her hat with her hand to pull it lower after it bounced up.
“Yes, we have to.”
Ten minutes later, Andy and Amanda boarded into the back of a Jeep, driven by the bushman that had killed the antelope.
“You ready for yo safari, mon?” the bushman asked.
Amanda got excited. “A safari? I love you!” Amanda kissed Andy on the cheek with everything she had, and his face turned hotter than the sun.
“I love you, too,” he replied.
The jeep screeched to a halt near the rich Makadikadi Basin, a water hole filled with zebras and flamingos.
“Wow, this is beautiful,” Amanda stated as she and Andy walked out along a small pier for viewing.
“You know it’s not as beautiful as you,” Andy replied romantically.
“Aw, I love how you always do that.”
“Hard to believe it’s this wet in a desert.”
“Yeah, it is.”
“But as long as we have each other, we’ll never go dry.”
“Your games never end.”
“And they never will, as long as I have you.”
Amanda stopped walking to touch her heart and blush. They had almost reached the end of the pier overlooking a water-filled basin of bustling activity; it was truly a sight to behold.
“Andy, I really don’t know what to say,” Amanda observed.
“About this scene, or about me?” Andy asked.
“Uh, both.” Amanda smiled broadly.
“Me, I could never run out of things to say about you.”
“Aww.”
“You really changed my life, you know that? Without you, I’d still be a dog on my parents’ leash, a lifeless loner seeking solace on the Internet. You’ve shown me the world.”
Amanda’s heart sped up. “And you never cease to make me smile, make me laugh…”
“…or make you cookies.”
Amanda giggled uncontrollably, despite knowing that would be exactly what he’d say.
“I didn’t think bringing cookies all the way here would work, but… I did bring something else,” Andy claimed. He scratched behind his ear and blushed. “I, uh, wrote you a poem.”
“Another one? Aw, I love it when you do that.”
Andy began reciting.
There is a love burning in me
A passion neverending
And it is all because of you
You give me strength, you pick me up
You will never let me down
No puzzles are left in my heart
When one talks about perfection
There’s no one that will top you
Or how you light any darkness
You open me up and give me life
And it all comes down to this
There’s just one who could be my wife
Amanda’s hand hit her mouth in shock as Andy got down on one knee. Her heart was beating full of adrenaline as a small leather case emerged from Andy’s pocket – in it, a diamond studded in pure silver, shining in the Kalahari sun.
“Amanda, my darling,” Andy said softly, “will you marry me?”
;D
